Scawen and Eric both worked on Black and White, I believe they're both in the credits. I also think they both quit thier jobs, but not 100% sure about Eric

Quote from Bergade :That would be because all of Minnesota has an accent. And everyone talks funny.
"Leave pretty quick"
"Pick up my room"
"Can of..pop..."

I haven't convinced anyone here yet though that I'm the one without an accent.

As for Canada, never been there. Seems like a nice place though.

I'm pretty sure Baltimore has a T
and the word on should only have one syllable

it would be cool, maybe, if a server could rotate tracks every 4 or 5 races. I know this could be confusing and difficult for some people, but it might be a fun way to get more combos going. I don't know how it would be implemented though.

It might not work so well for a racing sim though, it does seem to work well for FPS games.

Lol, guess the examples I gave only work in the U.S. and Canada, here the classes are much more loosely defined, there are no set classes. I remember from my 12th grade economics class that something like 95% of Americans say they're middle class, hehe.

Quote from silver bullet :Oh well, maybe they'd make a taxi simulator some time soon. I am guessing that system requirements are the main issue with making a game like that. Simulating city traffic with a few dozens cars in general vicinity would make the game slow down to a complete stop.

Nope, GTA and Midtown Madness do it just fine, they just use simpler car models. Although the traffic in GTA is pretty advanced, at least the new ones. But it can be done

Dude, chill. Give the kid a break, he's just trying to do his schoolwork.

He didn't make these names up, either. It probably doesn't make sense to people outside the U.S./U.K. but here they're fairly common.

Basically
Working class = working at McDonalds/other low paying hourly jobs
Lower Middle Class = Working in a factory or something
Upper Middle Class = Middle management at an office or something
Upper Class = C.E.O. or some other executive of a big company

These are just brief examples. I'm sure he's referring to family units, too. So if you live with your parents, use your parent's jobs to classify. If you live alone, obviously, use your own job.

Hope this clears stuff up and puts the thread back on track

I know there is radial deformation, at least there was in S1, haven't looked in S2 really.

Also, about the tire shaking back and forth over curbs and such, watch F1 sometime, where they get those super slow motion shots over the curbs. The tire deflects a lot for a split second, then shakes back and forth on the wheel until it hits the ground again. Granted, it doesn't deform as much as LFS would in that situation, but the effect is right at least.

Quote from MAGGOT :There's a 'southern' accent in New Brunswick. That's really strange though, because it has a high french population (relative, of course) but they sound like they're from Kentucky or Tennesee. Also, Newfoundlanders have a massive accent. I swear they've developed their own language, I can't understand most of what some of them say. LOL

Okay, lol, I didn't hear accents in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, or British Columbia. I haven't been to the eastern coast of Canada, but I'd love to get there.

By the way, I've seen a Moose in the suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and it did cause quite a stir...

Canada and the United States are simply two different countries, and the differences between them are the same as any two countries. The U.S. and Canada may be similar but that does not make them the same, not by any stretch.

As a sidenote, Canadian stereotypes piss me off. There's nothing backwards about Canada, their cities are clean and very nice, their scenery is beautiful, and the people are perfectly normal. And I can't even hear an accent...

Quote from birder :It may work but a racing car with passengers looks so stupid dont you think

You can't even put passengers in the race cars. I don't personally find the FZR that much harder to drive, I just don't like it, I hate it as a matter of fact, looks, driving feel, sounds, everything. I've done plenty of laps with it offline to practice to race online with it, but I can't stand it. Therefore I avoid GTR servers..

Did GTR2 get released in the states first? Because I have it, and I've had it for a little while... Box says GTR2 and everything. Still a crappy game though, bought it hoping it would be decent, and it's barely that, I just can't get over the lack of feel. Oh well, at least it didn't cost too much.

I personally can't stand them, but that being said, it's not up to me what other people decide to drive. IMHO, there are much stupider cars to drive out there, but whatever floats your boat.

By the way, at 6,400 lbs, it's only a couple hunded pounds heavier than a Bently Continental GT, and probably gets better milage..

Quote from silver bullet :I bought a red (?) Momo about a week and a half ago. The problem that I am having started right out of the box. Im not sure if its a big deal or not, and should I go and exchange the wheel.

The wheel has a certain degree of leeway where I get no resistance to movement, and no input into the game. When I move the wheel I generally feel a certain resistance, and the car on the screen responds to the input. However when I center the wheel, i can move it a tiny bit (maybe 1-2mm) without any resistance, and no input into the game. Its sort of like driving an old car, but not as severe. It's not a huge problem but it is a pain in the ass, especially considering that i JUST shelled out a hundred bucks for the damn thing.

English = NOT my first toungue, so did anybody understand what the hell Im talking about? Should I go and return it, or does this happen to everybody?

This definitely sounds like a deadzone problem to me, and I'm guessing that checking that option will fix it.

BTW, your English is remarkable, no need to apologize at all.

@Fonnybone, there's a 2.0 NA 4 cylinder Jetta/Golf sold in the US, not sure if that one is sold in Canada or not, there's no engine size badge on the back, it just says 2.0 on the engine.
